Jacinta's Miracle Veil

  • Jacinta's Miracle Veil
  • Timeless story teaching lessons on humility and perseverance
  • Feature page includes space for First Communion Photo, Date, and Parish Information

A new and heart-warming children's book, written and illustrated by Nellie Edwards. Jacinta's Miracle Veil is a story of a little girl about to make her first Holy Communion. However, she does not understand what is truly important about the occasion, and thinks it's "all about the dress!"

Through the example of Blessed Jacinta Marto and the story of Fatima, as explained to her by her mother, little Jacinta's heart is gradually drawn to understand how important the sacrament of First Communion really is. After a successful outcome to the treasure hunt for Great-Grandma's veil, she makes a touching declaration of faith.

This is a timeless story that teaches lessons on humility, perseverance.

“Nellie Edwards is to be commended for this truly heart-warming story. Children will learn along with little Jacinta about the important messages of Our Lady of Fatima and ultimately, the love of Jesus, who gives Himself totally in every Holy Communion."
- Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC Author of Champions of The Rosary

About the author and illustrator, Nellie Edwards: Nellie began creating fine art in 2007, acting on a sudden inspiration to draw a 'portrait of then-Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, five years before the Vatican would announce her canonization. To her surprise, her resulting piece entitled Holding on to Faith was quickly approved by the National Tekakwitha Conference, and later requested for the cover of the canonization issue of the Knights of Columbus Magazine Columbia as well as the cover of an OSV biography, which was sold in the Vatican Bookstore. Holding on to Faith and Nellie’s now-famous portrait of Our Lady of Guadalupe, titled Mother of Life, have caused her artwork to become known not only nationally but internationally. Four years ago, Nellie was inspired to write Jacinta’s Miracle Veil. She had never considered becoming an author but discerned it to be an assignment from God. Still, she delayed all the necessary illustrating, thinking it was not within her expertise.
